Hello! My name is Rochelle and I'm a floral designer + stylist.
I'm a crazy plant, cat and chicken lady. the running joke when I introduce myself is that I have 11 chickens (and counting), 3 cats, 2 dogs and a couple oak trees. I'm corny and recently was on the radio sharing the only joke I've ever memorized, a Dad joke. I usually laugh a lot as I'm an easy audience, but I promise, my laughter is always genuine. I value authenticity above all and deep connections with those in my life.
I'm a mama to 3 perfectly created children (1 boy in heaven, and my 2 beautiful and joyful daughters). My husband is a librarian at a local library, and we live in a beautiful little hamlet of a town in northern LA County, Green Valley. We call it "the mountain". I'm 20 minutes away from "civilization"and that's okay with me, which is funny to think about, because I've always considered myself an LA girl. Is there such a thing as a country girl with modern LA city cred and impeccable style? Well, that's me!
Here's a little more about me...
where is your studio located?
I work in my backyard, which is just about the coolest thing ever. My studio is on my home property in Green Valley, a beautiful 20 minute drive north of Santa Clarita, California. Our town is surrounded by a sprawling California oak forest, the Pacific Crest Trail, and I welcome adventure! Even though I'm far out, I happily come to you, unless you feel like a mini-retreat. Then come on up! I'll brew some coffee and we'll sit down in my living room and chat about your dream wedding while you soak in the environment and fresh air. I do require a travel fee (which varies based on your location) if you’re outside of Los Angeles County.
how would you describe your design style?
I am a modern, romantic floral designer. I love selecting the weird, the unusual, the provocative blooms that catch my eye, which are consequently flowers you've probably never seen or heard of prior.
These interesting accents will make you say "WOW!" and make the average rose and hydrangea come alive and the bouquet uniquely yours. I specialize in wedding design, and I love helping my clients express their personal style in timeless, yet unique floral designs that evoke emotion and create memories.
how far in advance should we purchase an arrangement or book our wedding with you?
It's best that you email me today if you want a custom arrangement in the next week. My availability varies, so the more notice I have to fit you in, the better! When I design your arrangements, there's a level of care and expertise that goes into handling each and every stem. I am so proud of what I create and deliver to you.
Because of this level of service, I do not book 4-5 weddings per weekend like other florists. In fact, I prefer to book only 1.
I only take on a limited number (about 15) weddings and events each year so I am able to focus my attention to the unique designs and the highest standard of attention to detail for each of my clients.
my family has me worried about my flowers wilting! what do you recommend?
First, take a deep breath, and release. Don't panic! Living and working in the hot climate of Southern California, I've had my fair share of weddings on hot days and every arrangement has been delivered in pristine condition and lasted far beyond the actual wedding day. It's MY job to select only the freshest product, process and hydrate it properly so you don't have to.
do you do arrangements with silk flowers?
Nope. Flowers create the ambiance and fragrance of your wedding day. The fragrance that comes with your wedding arrangements embeds itself if your olfactory and creates vivid and lasting memories. There's no fooling anyone when it comes to silk flowers, and plus, they're often MORE expensive than the real thing. I’ve got you. Promise.
I've never done this before, so what do I need to know?
It's my hope that this wedding (and marriage) is your happily ever after. I want to hear about all the amazing things you have going on, who you are as a couple, and what you envision for your wedding day so I can bring it to life. During our time together, I will gather all the information and interpret your style, selecting the best parts of your ideas to create a cohesive look. I will advise you on details that fall outside the realm of flowers to ensure design consistency.
The best way to get started is to complete the Wedding Inquiry form. I will get back to you ASAP. We will set up our consultation. Ideally, we hit it off and decide we’re a good match. Next, based on the information you provide, I will put together a preliminary proposal for you to make sure we're on the same page in terms of budget and style. Finally, I ask that you move forward with a contract and a non-refundable deposit within 5 days. I cannot hold your date without a deposit.
I have a unique situation/question. How can I get a hold of you?
Feel free to email me with any questions you may not have seen answered here on my website.
